Typically, a Trust Officer in Cayman will administer a portfolio of trust companies, while minimising corporate risk by ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations.

A Cayman Trust Officer will have responsibility for the following areas:

  • Managing and delivering corporate and trust administration services to an assigned portfolio of local and international companies and trusts
  • Ensuring that annual company, business filing and license fees payable in accordance with relevant legislation are collected and remitted accordingly
  • Completing all internal compliance documentation and maintaining accurate and detailed trust and company records
  • Liaising with interacting intermediaries such as corporate administrators, bankers, protectors, investment advisors, settlors and beneficiaries
  • Organising and attend Board and Shareholder meetings for companies, and trustee meetings to assist with drafting minutes and resolutions as required

What you need to be successful

To be successful in being approved for a work permit, you’ll need to hold a professional designation such as Society of Trust Estate Practitioners (STEP), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) or hold a legal or accounting designation, as well as have a minimum of 2+ years’ relevant trusts work experience.
